When panic hits, one button.

Grounding gives you one thing to do: press the button. A calm voice guides you through the 5-4-3-2-1 exercise, one sense at a time and at your own pace. Nothing rushes you. It works offline, with no account and no tracking. Coming soon to the App Store.

Grounding home screen with the “I need help” button

A small companion for hard moments

Made to be used right when it's hard to think.

One “I need help” button

No menus to fight through. A single big button takes you straight into the grounding exercise, with a soft voice that reads each step aloud and gentle haptics.

The 5-4-3-2-1 exercise

Five things you see, four you feel, three you hear, two you smell, one you taste. Tap each thing as you name it — grounding you actually do, not just read.

Optional guided breathing

Paces like 4-7-8, box and coherent breathing, with a calm ring that never pushes you to move on. Plus a gentle before/after check-in, kept private on your device.

Crisis lines, one tap away

Help lines for 16 countries always one tap away, with a confirm step so you never dial by accident, and a trusted contact you can reach fast.

Private and safe

Quick-exit: triple-tap to switch instantly to a plain notes screen. Optional PIN lock — and even then, crisis calls are never blocked.

Quiet by design

Soft sage colours, large type, dark mode and reduced-motion support. With an “I need help” widget and a Siri shortcut for one-tap access.

How it helps

Calm, clear and at your own pace.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes. The entire crisis toolkit — grounding, voice, breathing and crisis lines — is free, forever. No ads, no account and no tracking. Grounding Pro adds optional extras (colour themes, extra breathing paces and more to come) and supports a tiny indie app.

Is this medical advice?

No. Grounding is a companion for hard moments, not medical advice or a substitute for professional help or emergency services. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.

Does it collect my data?

No. Grounding works fully offline, with no account, no ads and no tracking. Your check-ins and settings are stored only on your device; we use no third-party analytics.

What is 5-4-3-2-1?

It's a grounding technique that brings your attention back to the present through your senses: you name five things you see, four you feel, three you hear, two you smell and one you taste, at your own pace.

What are quick-exit and the PIN for?

Quick-exit (triple-tap) instantly switches to a plain notes screen for your privacy. You can turn on a PIN lock; even with the PIN on, calls to crisis lines are never blocked.

When is it coming to the App Store?

Grounding is in testing and will arrive on the App Store for iPhone very soon.

Take a moment

Grounding will be on the App Store very soon, to be with you when it's hardest. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
