The app doesn't detect my WhatsApp
Check that WhatsApp is installed from Google Play and open it at least once. Then go back to WAUpdater and tap check; it'll read the version installed on your device.
It says I'm up to date but I've seen a newer version
The “latest” version it shows depends on the information available at the time and on WhatsApp's phased rollout, which reaches some devices before others. If Google Play offers you an update, always do it from there.
I'm not getting notifications
Grant WAUpdater the notification permission in Android Settings › Apps › WAUpdater › Notifications, and take it out of restricted battery saving so it can alert you in the background.
Is it safe? Does it update WhatsApp for me?
WAUpdater installs nothing on its own: it only detects that a new version is out and takes you to Google Play so you update it yourself from the official channel. Never download WhatsApp from unofficial sources.
Does it use my data or read my chats?
No. WAUpdater does not access your chats, contacts or messages. It only checks the version installed on your device. See the Privacy Policy linked below.
How do I remove the ads?
WAUpdater is free and supported by ads, so there's no ad-free option. In the EU you can change your advertising consent to see non-personalized ads.
